Before I Die...

Today I realized just how many old picture albums I have...you know, the kind on the wrong kind of paper! My sister is an awesome scrapbook artist (emphasis on ARTIST), and someday I'd like to get all of my photos organized. Any suggestions, anybody? Where do I start? I mean, I have lots of years--I won't even tell how many--and five kids! Comments please!!!!

I started by sorting photos by persons. I have a box labeled "Josh", one labeled "Shane", one for "Our Wedding", Holidays", "Friends" ,"Vernoy Family", "Riffe Family" "Special Occassions", "Church Functions" etc. I have Many Many photos! and am so far behind! I once read in a scrapbooking book to just go ahead and work on your most recent photos. Then gradually go back to the older photos and do a little at a time to catch up! But every class I have been to stressed, "Don't even try to create a scrapbook until your photos are organized!" So... hope this was a little helpful. Oh and I will get you some phtos and info soon on the beach themed stuff! God bless! Prayers are going up for your ministry!

I have my fotos organized in large "pocket" albums, roughly chrologicaly. As I scrapbook.LOL it's been along time, I just remove the ones I need. I also have Albums for extended family , Such as, a Rios album. I gave Jackie a 2 volume scrapbook of her life when she left home. I started one for Josh, but it only is done up til about his 1st Bday. And now Jewel is 16.....Bye, I better go scrapbook!!

I'm going to take your advice--after I get my files, etc. updated too. Hey, jungle-mom, can you tell me if you've ever found scrapbooking books/pages in VZ?

No, but I could sell you some since I will be unable to take ?everything back with me. I have unused Creative memory albums, pages, and protectors, well as some decorative pages.
oops! just realized I am signed in as Clint! He does not scrapbook!!

He braids hair, why not scrapbook too? I'll get back with you about the scrapbook purchase. Save them for me. Let me know the bs.

Hi. I'm totally new to blogging, but I have definitely enjoyed reading what you have already written and catching up on what's been going on. . .

That's terrible about you all being sick with that awful-sounding fever - and especially for the holidays! I hope everyone is doing much better!

As for a CAT - I don't know if you made your decision already or if maybe you'll consider another wonderful kitty cat in the near future, {as you can see, today's my first time reading ANY of your messages, so I'm commenting on the important ones. . . :) } but Cats aren't tooooo bad and they can be lots of fun, after all. I honestly quit liking cats when I was in high school. My brother was the one who loved the cats as well as the dogs - I just played with the dogs.

A few years ago, I got a cat because my daughter really wanted it, and mainly b/c I am deathly afraid of mice - I have a real phobia - and I had some. I figured I'd do what my mom did when I was a kid - have a cat for awhile until the mice were gone, and then tell the cat goodbye.

My cat was pretty playful, but she didn't know how to play without scratching - and yes, she did scratch the furniture some. So I had her declawed - the front claws only. Since then, she can play and "scratch" the furniture all she wants and she doesn't hurt us or the furniture. I left her back claws in tact, but they don't bother anything. Even without her front claws, she can climb trees (she still likes going outside) and catch mice and about anything else (except defend herself around big dogs so we keep watch over when she's outside). Also, the main thing Mom didn't like about cats is that they jumped up on the kitchen counter and table. My cat doesn't do that. I can even leave raw meat in my sink and she doesn't bother it at all. We just make sure she always has some cat food in her dish and that she isn't hungry, and she doesn't need to get into food. Mom thinks now our cats were probably too hungry there in Lima as they mainly got table scraps and left to fend for themselves - so that's why they got onto the table and counters. :) They were just "fending for themselves."

Anyway, we have grown to really love our cat and she's quite spoiled - yet she gives us so much joy. She is so cute and she'll play all the time and we just laugh watching her. And she's definitely a neat "snuggle-bug" too. I love making her purr. So anyway, I hope you get Morgan the cat she deserves and wants - and maybe if it's only Morgan's responsibility (and not Mom's) just maybe it won't have such a difficult, short-term stay. :)

And lastly, about Scrabbooking. . . I'm terrible about putting pictures in regular photo albums - let alone actually making them into beautiful scrapbooks. I've got tons of pictures that are everywhere. Jessy and I have just recently started to look through some of them and separate according to who they were and when they were taken - but it's definitely going to take too much work - so we might just throw them back into the closet and face them another day. :) No, I would like to throw them into some photo albums and put them in some kind of order, but no way will I ever be the Scrapbooking Artist that many are, but hey, if there in some kind of a book, that's better than in a box in the closet, right?!!? And actually, I'd like to eventually scan some of the best ones onto the computer and make a slideshow and just watch those. . .

Gotta go. Jessy's out of school and just called to say she no longer has a ride home for today. . . So it's time to be the chauffer again. . . :)

Hugs and kisses to the girls and a big Hi-5 for the guys from Aunt Candy and Jessy from Tulsa. We're praying for you!

To Jungle Mom: re: Yekwanaman: yeah, yeah, yeah... re: limena: not really, but basically. We grew up together, saw each other every day, etc. She's a hexahead too! Someday, I'll tell you about that, Can.
